Shanghai (Gasgoo)- EIR Technology ("EIR"), a humanoid robotics firm based in China's Sichuan province, recently entered into a strategic partnership with Tencent Cloud to collaborate on cloud computing applications and solutions for healthcare and eldercare scenarios, according to a press release EIT Technology released on Sept. 17 via its WeChat account.

Under the agreement, Tencent Cloud will leverage its global cloud infrastructure and audio-visual technology to provide EIR with computing power, data analytics, and cloud-based coordination capabilities. The two companies aim to jointly build an open, intelligent, and secure humanoid robotics ecosystem, enabling robots to achieve more advanced self-learning, environment adaptation, and group collaboration.

Founded in September 2024, EIR specializes in humanoid and quadruped robotic technologies, spanning R&D, manufacturing, sales, and services. Supported by the research resources of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, the Sichuan Institute of Machinery Research & Design, and the Tianfu Jiangxi Laboratory, the company has established an integrated ecosystem combining industry, academia, and application. Within just 69 days, EIR launched "Tianxingzhe (translating to 'Skywalker') No. 1," Sichuan's first commercial humanoid robot, followed quickly by an upgraded "Tianxingzhe No. 2." Its portfolio also includes the "Lingtong" series of quadruped robotic dogs.

The Tianxingzhe No. 2, developed entirely in-house, stands 165 cm tall, weighs 55 kg, and features 55 degrees of freedom, allowing for highly realistic movement. Compared with its predecessor, it offers major upgrades in performance, perception, interaction, and spatial intelligence. A full-body motion control algorithm, combined with a three-degree-of-freedom bionic waist and lightweight joints, gives the robot greater agility and improved adaptability in complex environments.

EIR's technologies are already being deployed in real-world settings such as factories and industrial parks, where its robots are performing tasks including equipment inspection and intelligent service operations.

By the end of this year, the company plans to introduce "Ai Qiu EMO1," a companion-focused humanoid robot that leverages its expertise in emotional interaction. Designed to align with Sichuan's cultural tourism and healthcare resources, the model will feature EIR's proprietary emotion recognition system, capable of interpreting micro-expressions, contextual cues, and tactile feedback to deliver more human-like interaction.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
