Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Sept. 15, BYD unveiled its third-generation e-Bus Platform 3.0 and introduced the new C11 electric bus in Hangzhou. The platform debuts the industry's first 1,000V bus architecture, setting a new benchmark for new energy bus technologies and accelerating the shift to electrified road transport.

The e-Bus Platform 3.0 adopts a full-domain 1,000V high-voltage architecture covering drive, charging, and HVAC systems, while also featuring 1,500V silicon carbide power chips and the world's first 1,000V integrated electric drive axle for buses. Together with a seven-in-one multi-source thermal management system, the platform reduces overall energy consumption by up to 18% and extends range by 50–80 km at –15°C.

In terms of safety, BYD has pioneered a bus-specific cell-to-chassis (CTC) integration, embedding ultra-thin bus-specific Blade batteries into the chassis frame. With ten layers of protection, the battery pack can withstand the pressure of a 50-tonne truck, improving both safety and interior space utilization.

The platform also debuts a next-generation E/E architecture that integrates electrification and intelligence. It introduces systems such as a bus-dedicated BYD DiSus-A suspension control, iTAC smart torque management, high-speed tire burst control (TBC), and Driver Incapacitation Assistance 2.0, enhancing stability, ride comfort, and safety.

The first model built on the platform, the 11-meter-long C11, offers over 400 km of range with full load and A/C on. Featuring the bus-dedicated DiSus-A system, eco-friendly materials, optimized ventilation, and NVH refinement, the C11 is designed for diverse operating conditions including high heat, cold, plateaus, cities, and rural roads.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
