Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 12, BYD's luxury sub-brand YANGWANG officially put the U8L model's Dingshi edition, onto the market, priced from 1.28 million yuan. Test drives began the same day, with first deliveries scheduled for the end of September.

The new SUV draws inspiration from China's ancient "ding" cultural heritage, offering five exterior color options and the choice of three 24K gold-plated emblems for the grille, rear, and steering wheel.

Measuring 5,400 mm long, 2,049 mm wide, and 1,921 mm high with a 3,250 mm wheelbase, the U8L Dingshi follows YANGWANG's "standing between heaven and earth" design philosophy. Its squared-off proportions and bold stance convey a sense of authority and commanding presence.

Design details such as the blackened bumper, minimalist fender arches, body-colored skirts, and hidden taillights enhance the SUV’s refined and cohesive appearance. Signature elements include a split-opening power tailgate, 23-inch forged alloy wheels with floating hubcaps, and other touches that accentuate its executive-class image.

The U8L Dingshi edition is equipped with YANGWANG's "DiPilot 600" advanced driver assistance system, which incorporates a triple-LiDAR setup to support functions such as highway and cityNOA, automated parking, valet parking, and precision maneuvering.

The U8L Dingshi edition's exceptionally long wheelbase provides generous cabin dimensions and a 2+2+2 layout. Luxury touches include front seats with 14-point massage, temperature-sensing armrests, dual headrest speakers, and lateral support. The second-row executive "zero-gravity" chairs add 18-point massage, personal audio, heated armrests, and folding tables, with modes for reclining, cinema viewing, and full-flat rest. Even the third row is equipped with extended cushions, heated seats, heated armrests, and electric adjustment, ensuring that all passengers enjoy a first-class experience.

Built on BYD's advanced e4 platform, the SUV delivers up to 1,200 horsepower and 880 kW of total system output, enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 3.5 seconds. It offers a CLTC-rated combined range of 1,160 km, including 200 km on battery power alone. The vehicle features front and rear double-wishbone suspension and differential locks, while core technologies such as e4 and DiSus-P provide unique safety capabilities, including water-floating in emergencies, stable driving with a punctured tire, and on-the-spot turning.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
