Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 15, 2025, Hesai Technology ("Hesai"), a global leader in LiDAR sensor solutions, announced that it had expanded its partnership with a top-tier U.S. Robotaxi operator by securing a contract valued at over $40 million.

Under the agreement, Hesai will serve as the company's exclusive LiDAR supplier, delivering both long-range and short-range products, with shipments scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.

Hesai said the deal reinforces its position as a trusted enabler in the large-scale rollout of next-generation autonomous vehicle fleets.

Market research firm Yole Group highlighted in its 2025 Global Automotive Lidar Report that Hesai commanded a 61% share of the worldwide Level 4 autonomous driving LiDAR market in 2024, ranking first for the fourth consecutive year. This solidifies its role as the preferred sensor provider for leading autonomous driving companies around the world.

Hesai co-founder and CEO David Li said the expanded partnership reflects the confidence the global Robotaxi leader place in the company's technological strength, product reliability, and large-scale manufacturing capabilities. As the industry transitions from pilot projects to full commercial deployment, Hesai aims to keep delivering advanced LiDAR systems that meet the highest safety standards and support the safe operation of large-scale autonomous fleets.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
