Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 12, XPENG announced that its REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) lineup will soon welcome a new addition, the G7 REEV, following the regulatory filing of the X9 REEV, the REEV family's first product.
According to the company, the G7's REEV version will deliver a battery-powered driving range of up to 430 kilometers and is scheduled to reach the market in the first quarter of 2026.
Regulatory filings from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed images and specifications of XPENG's first extended-range SUV. The G7 REEV measures 4,918 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. Compared with the G7's BEV version, which is slightly shorter at 4,892 mm, the REEV version grows by 26 mm in length while retaining the same width, height, and wheelbase.
Visually, the G7 REEV carries over XPENG's signature "Robot Face" front fascia, blending a continuous light strip with split headlamps. New air vents flank the headlights, while sculpted creases on the hood add a more muscular and high-tech presence.
From the side, the G7 REEV adopts a coupe-like silhouette with a sloping roofline, sculpted doors, and pronounced surfaces that emphasize its sporty profile. The model adds rear-facing cameras on the front fenders, flush door handles, and floating-style mirrors. Buyers will have a choice of three "X"-shaped alloy wheel designs paired with blacked-out brake calipers, as well as tire options in 235/55 R19 or 255/45 R20 sizes.
Under the hood, the G7 REEV uses a 1.5-liter range extender (model code DAM15NTE) producing 110 kW, paired with an electric motor rated at 218 kW. Energy storage comes from a 55.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by EVE Energy.
For context, the XPENG G7 currently offers three BEV trims priced between 195,800 yuan and 225,800 yuan. The REEV version is expected to be positioned more affordably, potentially lowering the entry price for the SUV lineup.
