【SMM Steel】Chinese automaker BYD Company Limited (BYD) plans to start local production of electric vehicles in Europe by 2028. Other Chinese EV brands, including Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology Co., Ltd. (Leapmotor) and Guangzhou Xiaopeng Motors Technology Co., Ltd. (XPeng Motors), are also expanding into the European market with affordable models to offset price competition in China.
