Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Leapmotor is stepping onto the global stage in Munich this week, using the IAA MOBILITY 2025 as the backdrop for the debut of its new B05 hatchback (also known as Lafa 5) and the European launch of the B10 SUV. The dual unveiling underscores the Chinese automaker's ambitions to push deeper into international markets while positioning itself as a challenger in the highly competitive electric mobility sector.

At the show, Leapmotor has spread its presence across the Messe exhibition halls, the Open Space and the Test Drive Area, offering visitors a close look at its latest technology, design philosophy, and long-term vision for intelligent electric mobility.

The spotlight event came on September 8 in Hall B3 of the Messe grounds, where Leapmotor introduced the B05 alongside its broader range of intelligent EVs. The unveiling was accompanied by a press conference and media sessions that laid out the company's strategic roadmap and next phase of technological progress.

Leapmotor B05

Leapmotor has lifted the curtain on the B05, a sport-looking C-hatchback making its world debut as the brand's latest play for young, style-conscious city drivers. Framed as more than just another smart EV, the B05 is intended to showcase Leapmotor's ambition to combine performance, design flair, and advanced technology in a single package.

Aimed at trendsetters who value both pace and personality, the B05 is positioned as a fresh interpretation of urban electric mobility.

Stylistically, the car adopts Leapmotor's "Tech-Nature Aesthetic," balancing clean lines with muscular proportions to project both modernity and everyday usability.

Notable design touches include frameless doors and 19-inch "Swift-Wing" alloy wheels, which accentuate the car's athletic stance. With one of the broadest shoulders in its class at 1,880 mm, the hatchback emphasizes stability and interior roominess. Its overall proportions—4,430 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,520 mm high, riding on a 2,735 mm wheelbase—underscore its blend of practicality and performance.

Leapmotor's global CEO, Zhu Jiangming, framed the B05 as more than a product launch, describing it as part of the company's wider mission to make innovation and accessibility central to its European expansion strategy.

The debut marks a calculated step in Leapmotor's bid to gain a foothold in Europe's fiercely competitive compact EV segment. By coupling affordability with eye-catching design and new technology, the B05 is positioned as a challenger brand entry aimed squarely at the continent's fast-growing electric mobility market.

Leapmotor B10 SUV

Leapmotor has officially introduced its B10 compact SUV to the European market, using IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich as the launch platform. The move underscores the company's ambitions to expand internationally, with Europe positioned as a cornerstone of its strategy.

Customer orders for the B10 opened in late July across select European markets, and production has already been scaled up to meet demand. Thanks to its partnership with Stellantis, Leapmotor can leverage an extensive distribution network, ensuring deliveries begin immediately alongside its debut at the IAA MOBILITY. Beyond Europe, the B10 will also reach more than 30 markets spanning the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America.

Built on the new LEAP3.5 architecture, the B10 blends digital intelligence with practical design to target Europe's largest vehicle segment: the C-segment SUV market. With a starting price from €29,900, the model is positioned as one of the most accessible long-range electric SUVs in its class.

The B10 measures 4,515 mm long, 1,885 mm wide, and 1,655 mm high, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase—dimensions tailored for European urban and highway use. Inside, the cabin emphasizes versatility, with generous headroom, adaptable seating, and 22 storage compartments. Its flat-folding rear seats can transform the space into a lounge-like resting area, making it attractive for both daily use and long-distance travel.

Technology is a core selling point. A 14.6-inch 2.5K floating touchscreen powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8155 chip anchors the cabin, offering smooth navigation and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via upcoming OTA updates. Leapmotor's LEAP OS 4.0 Plus system adds a customizable interface, immersive 3D cockpit, multi-application display, and remote control features through the Leapmotor mobile app.

Performance options include a 218 hp motor delivering 0–100 km/h in eight seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h. Two battery packs are available: a 56.2 kWh version with 361 km WLTP range and a 67.1 kWh version with 434 km. Both support 11 kW AC charging and ultra-fast DC charging up to 168 kW, enabling a 30–80% top-up in under 20 minutes.

Ride quality benefits from a balanced 50:50 weight distribution, multi-link rear suspension, and chassis tuning jointly developed with Stellantis engineers. Two trims are offered: the LIFE edition, which includes a panoramic sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, 360-degree camera, and full ADAS suite as standard; and the DESIGN edition, which upgrades the interior with ECO leather, ambient lighting, and ventilated power seats.
