Chile's Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP) is implementing efficiency optimization and clean energy transition initiatives. Ongoing projects include technological upgrades and capacity expansion at the Cerro Negro Norte mine, which is expected to increase production from 4 million mt/year to 4.5 million mt/year. The pellet plant's capacity expansion is also underway, with the initial phase raising daily output from 44,000 mt to 48,000 mt, and plans to gradually increase it to 74,000 mt/day, ultimately achieving an annual iron ore production of 9.3 million mt.

Another CMP project involves commencing underground mining operations at the El Romeral mine in the Coquimbo region, which will expand reserves from 18 million mt to 100 million mt of ROM iron ore.
