The General Administration of Customs reported that in the first eight months of this year, China's foreign trade maintained steady growth, with total imports and exports reaching 29.57 trillion yuan, up 3.5% YoY. Trade with Belt and Road partner countries accounted for 51.7% of the total, amounting to 15.3 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.4%. In August alone, imports and exports totaled 3.87 trillion yuan, rising 3.5%, with exports at 2.3 trillion yuan (up 4.8%) and imports at 1.57 trillion yuan (up 1.7%). Lv Daliang, Director of the Department of Statistics and Analysis at the General Administration of Customs, noted that the cumulative growth rate of imports and exports in the first eight months accelerated by 0.6 percentage points compared to H1. Both exports and imports expanded in August, marking the third consecutive month of dual growth. Despite a severe and complex external environment, China's foreign trade has demonstrated sustained resilience and vitality.
