On September 4, the Semiconductor Manufacturing, Equipment and Core Components Chairman Forum was held in Wuxi. Li Weiming, CTO and Vice Chairman of Micro-Nano, stated in his keynote speech, "Within three to five years, the number of transistors on a single chip is expected to reach one trillion, and the global semiconductor market size is projected to hit $1 trillion." At the beginning of his speech, Li Weiming noted that the "two one-trillion" figures illustrate the future development prospects of the semiconductor industry, which also presents new opportunities for advanced materials, processes, and equipment. Li Weiming emphasized that "logistics must precede troop movements"—equipment and materials serve as the "logistics" for wafer fabs, and equipment suppliers must lead innovation rather than follow wafer fab customers. Apart from meeting clients' innovation demands, Li Weiming stressed that domestic equipment suppliers possess more efficient service capabilities in areas such as customer support, customized processes, and equipment, enabling them to better support the growth of local wafer fabs.
