Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Sept. 6, SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") and Huawei Technologies ("Huawei") signed an agreement to upgrade their strategic partnership. The collaboration will focus on three key areas—intelligent driving, smart cockpit, and smart manufacturing. The first jointly developed vehicle model, the Baojun Huajing S (name in Chinese pinyin), made its debut at the signing ceremony.

The Baojun Huajing S, a new flagship six-seat SUV, will come standard with Huawei's Qiankun intelligent driving system (Huawei ADS 4), HarmonySpace 5 smart cockpit system, Huawei IVCS (intelligent vehicle cloud service), and Limera in-cabin laser vision system.

The two companies will integrate Huawei's intelligent solutions with SGMW's proprietary technologies, including the Lingmou intelligent driving system, Lingyu cockpit, Lingxi powertrain, and Shenlian battery.

In smart manufacturing, SGMW will leverage its I²MS intelligent island manufacturing system, enhanced with Huawei's high-reliability networks, AI, and big data technologies, to upgrade production processes and build a more resilient manufacturing ecosystem.

As the first Chinese automaker with cumulative production and sales exceeding 30 million vehicles, SGMW has established strong advantages in user scale, scenario-based technologies, and intelligent manufacturing. Its portfolio includes cutting-edge technologies such as the I²MS system, 12-in-1 integrated e-drive system, and Shenlian semi-solid-state battery.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
