Timesca—Geological exploration at the Kuirektykol rare earth mine, the largest in Kazakhstan's Karaganda region, revealed significantly higher resource estimates than previously projected. The latest data indicates the area contains 282 million mt of commercially viable rare earth elements, compared to the initial estimate of 20 million mt. The exploration commenced in 2022, and by November 2024, geologists had confirmed significant concentrations of cerium and other lanthanides at depths of 300 meters across four key blocks.
