At the event, Chery stood out as the only automotive company among 24 signatories to endorse the new Vision for Sustainable Brands initiative.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 4 in Geneva, a high-level dialogue on "Building Sustainable Business and Brands," co-organized by UN Trade and Development ("UNCTAD"), the United Nations on Sustainability Standards ("UNFSS"), the China Association for Standardization, and its Sustainable Business and Brands Committee ("SBBC"). At the event, Chery stood out as the only automotive company among 24 signatories to endorse the new "Vision for Sustainable Brands" initiative, becoming one of its founding members.

Launched on the occasion of the UN's 80th anniversary, the initiative was spearheaded by SBBC and partner organizations. It reflects both the global community's call for stronger corporate sustainability leadership and a declaration of intent from Chinese businesses to pursue ambitious, responsible growth.

The companies pledged to integrate sustainability into every dimension of their brand and business strategy, committing to responsible practices that support the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The first cohort of signatories included Chery, Anta, CATL, LONGi, Haier, JD.com, Midea, Hisense, Baidu, and iFlytek, alongside other leading firms.

Commenting on Chery's participation, Chairman Yin Tongyue said the automaker views sustainability not only as a defining issue of the era but also as a new benchmark for corporate value. He emphasized that building a truly sustainable brand requires the convergence of technological innovation, green development, social responsibility, and long-term vision—ensuring business growth goes hand in hand with societal benefit. By joining the initiative, Chery aims to embed these principles into its corporate strategy, products, and services, with the goal of contributing to a safer, greener, and better world.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
