[SMM Flash News: US HyProMag Triples Magnetic Material Recycling Capacity] US magnet recycler HyProMag USA plans to significantly expand its recycling capacity, aiming to triple it. The specific measures involve adopting a hub-and-spoke model and expanding into Nevada and South Carolina. The company's investor, Mkango, announced today that HyProMag is currently constructing a rare earth magnet recycling and manufacturing facility in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Texas. Simultaneously, the company is exploring expansion opportunities to build new facilities in Williston, South Carolina, and Reno, Nevada. The DFW center, with a 40-year operational lifespan, will have the capacity to recycle 750 metric tons of sintered NdFeB magnets and 807 mt of NdFeB by-products annually. The center is expected to commence commercial operations in H1 2027. Additionally, HyProMag USA's expansion scale will be sufficient to support four additional magnet production lines. Notably, this expansion study is being conducted in collaboration with electronic waste recycler Intelligent Lifecycle Solutions, which began storing hard drive magnet scrap for recycling in August and has agreed to site-sharing arrangements with HyProMag USA in Williston, South Carolina, and Reno, Nevada.
