[SMM Tin Express] China Advertising Association: Unscrupulous Marketing in the Auto Industry Reflects "Rat Race" Competition, Calls for Hitting the Brakes

In response to public concerns over issues in advertising and marketing campaigns by some car makers, the China Advertising Association issued a statement on September 4, emphasizing that automakers, dealers, and marketing agencies must never disregard the fundamental legal and ethical boundaries. They should fasten the "safety belt" of law and morality for normal advertising and marketing communications, and both car producers and society at large must "step on the brakes" against unethical promotional practices. The association stated that the frequent occurrence of bottom-line marketing in the intelligent connected vehicle sector represents a "lose-lose" situation for all parties involved. For the automotive industry, it reflects cut-throat competition and disrupts market order. For honest and law-abiding producers, it constitutes unfair competition. For consumers, it infringes upon their statutory basic right to consumption safety. As for brands themselves, aside from the severe reputational damage caused by penalties for violations, the mere loss of public trust due to societal scrutiny amounts to devastating harm to brand integrity.
