Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 4, Leapmotor's Senior Vice President and COO, Xu Jun, shared official camouflage images of the Lafa5 on his Weibo account, describing it as a coupe designed for young drivers worldwide. The model is set to make its global debut at the IAA MOBILITY 2025 on September 8.

The teaser images suggest that the Lafa5 blends Leapmotor's familiar design language with sportier details. A continuous light bar dominates the front, ensuring strong visual recognition when illuminated. Muscular creases run along the hood, while a protruding front bumper adds to the car's athletic stance.

From the side, the coupe carries a smooth, flowing silhouette, complemented by flush door handles in line with current styling trends. The widened rear enhances its performance-oriented look. Powertrain details, however, have yet to be disclosed.

Alongside the Lafa5, Leapmotor will also showcase the B10 SUV at Munich.

The company recently confirmed that the B10, its global-oriented strategic model, will hit the European market at the IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich on September 8. Deliveries to European customers will begin simultaneously.

In Europe, the Leapmotor B10 is priced at €29,900 (around 250,000 yuan). For comparison, the model was launched in China on April 10 across five trims, offering either 510 km or 600 km of CLTC-rated range. Domestic pricing ranges from 99,800 yuan to 129,800 yuan, and fix orders reached over 10,000 units within just one hour of launch.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
