Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Sept. 3, BYD celebrated the production milestone of its 10,000th T5 new energy light-duty truck at the company's smart truck plant in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province.

The BYD T5, underpinned by core technologies such as the Blade Battery, battery direct cooling, and the BSC electronic braking system, continues to deliver breakthroughs in range and efficiency. The model has been designed to fully serve diversified urban logistics scenarios, from parcel delivery and cold-chain transport to supermarket goods and fresh produce distribution.

The T5 addresses the specific needs of urban distribution, including high-frequency use, short- and medium-distance routes, multiple stops, and access to restricted areas. The truck is available in both plug-in hybrid electric and battery-electric versions to cover varied operating requirements.

The T5 supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to be replenished from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes, maximizing vehicle uptime and operational efficiency. Equipped with BYD's Blade Battery, the truck offers high safety, long lifecycle, and strong energy density, ensuring reliable performance across different climates.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
