[Russia's New Auto Sales Decline Worsened in August] According to the latest data from Russian analytical agency Autostat, Russia's passenger car sales reached 122,235 units in August, down 17.6% YoY, with the decline widening from July's 11.4% drop. The primary reason was that the interest rate cut failed to boost market activity. In the first eight months of this year, Russia's new auto sales fell 23% YoY to 773,264 units.
