Beijing (Gasgoo)- On NIO's second  quarter 2025 earnings call, founder, chairman and CEO William Li said the company aims to achieve monthly deliveries of 50,000 units in the fourth quarter of this year, driven by the rollout of its multi-brand strategy.

Specifically, strong demand for the new ES8 and the ONVO L90 is expected to support this target, with the ONVO L90 reaching a monthly production capacity of 15,000 units in October and the ES8 matching that level in December.

Looking ahead to 2026, NIO plans to introduce three new large SUVs under its brand portfolio: the ES9, the five-seat ES7, and the ONVO L80. William Li said the expanded lineup will help NIO cover more market segments.

In the second quarter of 2025, NIO reported revenue of 19.01 billion yuan, up 9% year on year and 57.9% quarter on quarter. Vehicle deliveries reached 72,056 units, a 25.6% increase from a year earlier and 71.2% higher than the previous quarter. The company's overall gross margin rose to 10%.

The company's R&D expenses totaled 3.01 billion yuan in the second quarter. By the end of June 2025, NIO's cash reserves grew to 27.2 billion yuan, providing solid financial support for future growth.

For the third quarter, NIO expects deliveries of 87,000 units to 91,000 units, up 40.7%–47.1% year on year, with revenue projected at 21.81 billion yuan to 22.88 billion yuan.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
