Aclara Secures $5M USD Funding from US DFC for Heavy Rare Earth Project Development

[SMM Flash: Aclara Secures $5 Million from US to Develop Heavy Rare Earth] Canadian rare earth producer Aclara Resources has obtained $5 million in project development funding from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The funds will be specifically allocated to advance its Carina heavy rare earth project in Brazil. Aclara operates under a vertically integrated business model and holds rare earth resources in both Brazil and Chile.

The company revealed that the funding will support a feasibility study scheduled to commence in July 2025, which is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 2026. Additionally, Aclara plans to establish a separation facility in the US to process mixed rare earth carbonates into oxides. The company has also partnered with Chilean steel producer CAP to jointly manufacture rare earth metals and alloys.
