On September 2, Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (“GWM”) reported its best-ever August sales performance of 115,558 vehicles, indicating a 22.33% year-on-year increase.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 2, Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor ("GWM") reported its best-ever August sales performance of 115,558 vehicles, indicating a 22.33% year-on-year increase. From January to August this year, the automaker sold 789,719 vehicles in total, which grew 5.94% compared to the same period last year.

In August, GWM's new energy vehicle (NEV) sales amounted to 37,495 units, surging 50.92% from a year earlier, highlighting the company's accelerated growth in the NEV sector. Meanwhile, sales of models priced above 200,000 yuan reached 31,631 units last month, zooming up 50.57% year on year.

Regarding performance in overseas markets, GWM saw its monthly export volume hit a record high of 45,166 units in August, representing an 11.65% rise from a year ago.

By brand, HAVAL sold 68,912 vehicles in August (+22.69% YoY), while TANK recorded 20,022 units (+22.46% YoY). WEY brand posted monthly sales of 8,028 units, representing a sharp 167.51% spike year-over-year. GWM's pickup brand POER sold 13,322 vehicles last month, with cumulative global sales now reaching 2.812 million units. ORA, GWM's NEV brand, sold 5,223 vehicles in August.
