The orders of the new-gen IM LS6 SUV has surged past 50,000 units since IM Motors kicked off the presales.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 1, IM Motors, Chinese new energy vehicle brand co-backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang High-tech, reported sales of 6,108 new vehicles for the month of August 2025, achieving steady growth.

The all-new IM L6 sedan has quickly gained traction, ranking among the Top 3 best-sellers in China's mid-to-large all-electric sedan segment priced above 200,000 yuan. Yet the bigger headline is the success of the new-gen IM LS6 SUV, whose orders has surged past 50,000 units since IM Motors kicked off the presales.

The new-gen IM LS6 is offered in both REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) and BEV (battery electric vehicle) versions, with presale prices ranging from 209,900 yuan to 279,900 yuan. To entice early adopters, IM Motors is advertising presale incentives worth up to 74,400 yuan.

The new-gen IM LS6 SUV is equipped with IM Motors' super range-extended technology "Hengxing" (literally meaning "star"), which enables a CLTC battery-powered range of up to 450km and a combined range of as much as 1,500km. The company is marketing the vehicle as a solution to range anxiety, particularly for buyers in northern regions and those without access to home charging. Alongside its technical claims, the new IM LS6 integrates IM Motors' proprietary "Agile Lizard Digital Chassis", upgraded ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features, and a cabin pitched as both spacious and premium. Before hitting the market on September 10, the model is now available for test drives nationwide.

IM Motors is currently showcasing its full lineup at the 28th Chengdu Motor Show, including the new-gen IM LS6 SUV, the all-new IM L6 sedan, and the refreshed IM LS7 SUV.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
