Canada's Algoma Steel announced the successful achievement of first steel production from Unit 1 of its newest Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) facility. This marks the first steel tapping from one of the company's two new electric arc furnaces. The facility is designed with an annual capacity of 3.7 million tons of liquid steel, equipped with two 250-ton electric arc furnaces, each with a power capacity exceeding 150 MVA.
