Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chery Group reported robust sales in August 2025, selling 242,736 vehicles for the month, up 14.6% year on year. From January through August, the company sold a total of 1,727,299 units, representing a 14.5% increase compared with the same period last year.

The company attributed the momentum to the synergy of its multi-brand strategy. CHERY, EXEED, JETOUR, and iCAR each strengthened their position in distinct market segments, collectively underpinning the group's steady growth.

The core Chery marque remained the group's main growth driver, selling 162,396 vehicles in August. Year-to-date sales reached 1,078,626 units, the fastest pace in the brand's history to surpass the one-million mark in a single year, underscoring its deep roots and broad appeal in the mainstream market.

The group's dedicated new energy vehicle (NEV) marque, iCAR, delivered standout results. The brand sold 4,820 vehicles in August, bringing its eight-month tally to 55,896 units—a 43.9% year-on-year surge—making it the fastest-growing nameplate in the group's portfolio.

JETOUR also played a significant role, with 54,179 vehicles contributed in August and 402,992 units sold so far this year, consolidating its position as one of the group's largest contributors.

EXEED, Chery's premium vehicle brand, sold 7,659 vehicles in August and 77,149 units year to date, maintaining steady progress in the higher-end segment.

Chery Group's performance in NEVs was particularly striking. Between January and August, its NEV sales soared 81.8% year on year to 495,955 units, well above the industry's estimated growth of around 30%. In August alone, the group sold 71,218 NEVs, a 53.1% year-on-year spike that reinforced its strong upward trajectory.

Exports also hit new highs, reinforcing Chery Group's position as China's leading auto exporter. The company shipped 129,472 vehicles overseas in August, up 32.3% year on year, marking the fourth consecutive month above the 100,000-unit threshold and setting a new monthly record. From January to August, total exports reached 798,804 vehicles, a 10.8% year-on-year increase that further consolidated its dominance in global markets.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
