[Tianqi Lithium: Pilot Project for Annual Production of 50 mt Lithium Sulphide Has Been Substantially Implemented and Commenced Construction]
At the 2025 semi-annual performance briefing, Tianqi Lithium stated that the company has successfully completed the industrialisation preparations for lithium sulphide, a core raw material for next-generation solid-state batteries, while continuously improving product quality and optimising cost-reduction technologies. In response to the demand for lithium sulphide from downstream sulphide-based solid-state electrolytes, the company's pilot project with an annual production capacity of 50 mt of lithium sulphide has been substantially implemented and commenced construction. The project adopts independently developed new technologies and equipment for lithium sulphide production, featuring low-risk and rapid mass-production capabilities, and is expected to be constructed in Meishan, Sichuan.
