The Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6 is expected to be equipped with Geely Auto's latest NordThor EM-i PHEV-dedicated system.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 27, Geely Auto's Galaxy brand ("Geely Galaxy") released official images of its latest plug-in hybrid electric sedan model — the Galaxy Xingyao 6.

Regulatory filings of the Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6 had already been submitted to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology last month. The Xingyao 6 adopts a new design language, featuring a large shield-shaped grille with vertical slats, sharp-edged headlights, and a triple-section lower intake that underscores its sporty intent. Sculpted creases on the hood further emphasize its muscular character.

The Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6 measures 4,806mm in length, 1,886mm in width, and 1,490mm in height, riding on a 2,756-mm wheelbase. Power comes from a 1.5-liter engine delivering a maximum output of 82kW, paired with a 17kWh battery pack supplied by Chinese battery manufacturer CALB. Top speed is listed at 180km/h. In addition, the new sedan is expected to be equipped with Geely Auto's latest NordThor EM-i plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)-dedicated system.

Geely Galaxy launched the Galaxy A7 midsize plug-in hybrid electric sedan earlier this month. The model, positioned higher in the lineup, claims a combined range of more than 2,100km, with a battery-powered range of either 70km or 150km. It boasts a fuel consumption as low as 2.67L per 100km when lack of electricity under the China Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). By comparison, The Geely Galaxy Xingyao 6 is aimed at a more entry-level market segment than the Galaxy A7, which is currently priced between 81,800 yuan and 117,800 yuan.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
