[Yichang, Hubei: Five Major Industrial Clusters Expected to Reach 100-Billion-Yuan Scale]

It is reported that at the peak in 2016, over 200 kilometers of the Yangtze River shoreline in Yichang accommodated more than 130 chemical enterprises and over 1,020 kilometers of chemical pipelines, with some plants located less than 100 meters from the river. In response to the call for "prioritizing ecological protection over large-scale development," Yichang demonstrated resolute determination and launched a campaign for industrial transformation and upgrading, guiding the chemical industry toward high-end, intelligent, and green development. After years of sustained efforts, Yichang has not only achieved development alongside protection but also ascended to the high end of the industry chain and value chain.

Wu Shuang, Deputy Director of the Yichang Municipal National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), stated that in H1 this year, the city signed 598 new projects each worth over 100 million yuan, with 175 newly registered investment projects exceeding 100 million yuan and a total investment of 112.9 billion yuan, ranking first in Hubei. The five major industrial clusters—new energy batteries, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, life health, and big data and computing economy—are expected to each reach a 100-billion-yuan scale this year.
