It is SAIC Motor's first overseas showroom that embraces the two brands.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 25, a "Wuling + MG" co-branded experience center officially opened for business in Jakarta's central business district, Indonesia, according to a press release issued by SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") via its WeChat account. It is SAIC Motor's first overseas showroom that embraces the aforesaid two brands and the second outlet opened in Indonesia since its Chinese dealership partner Zhihecheng Group entered the Indonesia market in 2024.

The experience center is operated by Zhihecheng Aladdin International, a joint venture between Zhihecheng Group, SGMW's authorized distributor for China's Sichuan province, and Indonesian conglomerate Aladdin Group. With this second store now open, SGMW gains additional channel support to accelerate its "Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand integration" strategy across the region.

SGMW is the first Chinese automaker to deploy local production capacity in Indonesia, aligning with China's Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past eight years, it has built a customer base of 160,000 Indonesian owners while bringing along 17 Chinese supply-chain partners — including Gotion High-tech, CRRC, and Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (BAOSTEEL) — to localize operations. SGMW has also established a network of 150 dealerships and service outlets, offering what it calls "Wuling solutions" for the entire Chinese automotive value chain going overseas.

Tang Wensheng, General Manager of SGMW Indonesia, said the opening of the "Wuling + MG" co-branded experience center represented another step in aligning product, channel, and production strategies under SAIC Motor's broader international expansion. Tang added that Wuling would continue refining its product lineup in Indonesia while working with partners to deliver improved services.

According to Shao Junkan, CEO of Zhihecheng Aladdin International, the "Wuling + MG" joint brand experience center will offer Indonesian customers a full life-cycle service experience. Plans include expanding into certified used-car sales, centralized delivery and EV maintenance centers, leasing services, and import-export trade in vehicles and parts. The center also aims to establish Wuling and MG brands' customer service hubs, customization workshops, premium detailing studios, and even livestreaming platforms to strengthen brand engagement.
