According to foreign media, American Rare Earths extracted light and heavy rare earth oxide concentrates from ore at its Halleck Creek project in southeastern Wyoming for use by defense-related agencies. On August 15, the company stated that these concentrates were extracted from 840 kg of ore obtained from 36 drill holes at the project. Analysis by a research institute showed the rare earth oxide grade in the light rare earth concentrate was 96.4%, while the heavy rare earth oxide concentrate had a grade of 97.1%. These oxides are used in permanent magnet production.
