[First Project Under Ukraine-US Minerals Agreement Launches Tender Process, Mining Rights Potentially Contested] Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced on the 27th the launch of a tender process for mining rights at the Dobra lithium mine located in the Kirovohrad region of central Ukraine. The Dobra lithium mine is the first project under the Ukraine-US minerals agreement. Svyrydenko stated that the official tender notice will be issued within the next two months, followed by a three-month bidding period before the winning bidder is determined. According to Ukraine's Ministry of Economy, the winning bidder will be required to sign a 50-year contract and commit to investing at least $179 million. However, as reported by the UK's Financial Times, the mining rights for the Dobra lithium mine are subject to dispute.
