In the first seven months of this year, Japan's steel scrap exports totaled approximately 4.4 million mt, up 18% YoY. Exports to Vietnam rose 30% YoY to 1.9 million mt, followed by South Korea and Bangladesh with imports of 750,000 mt (down 22% YoY) and 738,000 mt (up 160% YoY), respectively. Meanwhile, exports to Taiwan fell 30% YoY to around 280,000 mt. In July alone, Japan's steel scrap exports reached 616,000 mt, an 8% increase YoY.
