In H1 this year, Kumba's iron ore grade stood at 64.1%, with a lump-to-fines ratio of 67:33, marking a stark contrast to the industry-wide decline in ore quality. Some major iron ore producers have seen their ore grades drop to 61%, with their highest lump ratios significantly lower than Kumba's. Due to its superior grade, the iron ore products from Kumba, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, help reduce customers' Scope 1 carbon emissions.

Kumba's standard and premium products are well-suited for blast furnace steelmaking, as high-grade ore not only reduces CO2 emissions but also enhances productivity.
