On August 25, 2025, Canada's Oceanic Iron Ore Corp. released the latest progress on its Hopes Advance project, highlighting the project's strategic advantages and long-term production potential. Located in the tidal zone, the project eliminates the need for railway infrastructure construction and third-party port reliance, thereby reducing costs. The current mine plan only considers exploiting 3 out of 10 deposits over its 28-year mine life.
The project boasts abundant mineral resources exceeding 1.3 billion mt, with an iron ore grade of 32.1%, capable of meeting long-term iron ore market demand. As part of the current Canadian government's Northern Action Plan, the Quebec provincial government strongly supports mineral project development in northern Quebec, with this project receiving backing from the Northern Plan Association.
