Green steel pioneer Stegra has installed the first 200MW of electrolyser modules for its giant 740MW renewable hydrogen plant, part of the company’s direct-reduced iron (DRI) and steel mill in Boden, northern Sweden.
Stegra targets an annual output of 5 million tonnes of green steel by 2030. The plant will have a capacity of 2.1 million tonnes per year for DRI production and will produce finished steel products amounting to 2.5 million tonnes annually.
