






On August 26, the "Mengkeju" special press conference and ferroalloy industry scientific and technological achievements release conference was held in Ulanqab City. The aim was to fully leverage the bridging role of the "Mengkeju" platform in scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation, strengthen the promotion of new technologies, products, and achievements in Ulanqab's ferroalloy industry, and effectively promote the efficient sharing and precise matching of information related to industrial outcomes, scientific and technological talents, policies, and demands. Experts and professors from institutions such as the Ferroalloy Committee, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Northeastern University, and North University of China, as well as representatives and scientific and technological workers from the ferroalloy sector, attended the event.
The press conference was conducted both online and offline. On-site, Lu Chunsheng, Assistant Director of the Metallurgical Industry Standardization Research Institute and Secretary General of the National Pig Iron and Ferroalloy Standardization Technical Committee, introduced the progress of China's ferroalloy standardization work. Five organizations, including the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Northeastern University, North University of China, Inner Mongolia Xintai Industrial Group Co., Ltd., and Jitie Ferroalloy Co., Ltd., released six scientific and technological achievements in the ferroalloy field, such as "Application Achievements of Energy-saving and Low-carbon Frontier Technologies in Ferroalloys," "Technology for Preparing Artificial Stone Using Ferroalloy Slag," and "Key Technologies for Smelting High-carbon Ferrochrome Alloys in DC Electric Furnaces." Xintai New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. of Fengzhen, Inner Mongolia Zhonghuan Xinchuang Renewable Resources Co., Ltd., and the University of Science and Technology Beijing; Fengzhen Huaxing Chemicals and Northeastern University; and Jitie Company and the Metallurgical Industry Information Standardization Research Institute signed technology cooperation agreements respectively. The head of the Mechanical and Electrical Technology Department of Ulanqab Vocational College delivered a speech on the theme of "Deepening School-Enterprise Collaboration, Jointly Nurturing Professional Talents, Empowering High-quality Development of Ulanqab's Ferroalloy Industry."
Vice Mayor Li Jianwen stated at the press conference that in recent years, Ulanqab City has focused on promoting high-quality development of the ferroalloy industry, implementing energy-saving and efficiency-enhancing actions such as the "Three Batches" and "Five Transformations," and establishing the Ferroalloy Science and Technology Innovation Research Institute. It has carried out key technology and application research in areas such as energy conservation, carbon reduction, and solid waste utilization, driving the green, low-carbon, and efficient development of the industry. In 2024, it achieved a production of 11.32 million mt, accounting for 72% of the total regional production and 31% of the national total, with a total output value of about 80 billion yuan. This further consolidated its position as the largest ferroalloy production site in the country, making positive contributions to the development of the upstream and downstream industries of ferroalloys in the region and nationwide. He hoped that participants would take this event as an opportunity, focusing on the demand for scientific and technological innovation in the green and high-quality development of the ferroalloy industry, and by implementing the science and technology "breakthrough" project, further increase R&D investment, strengthen the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and provide high-level technological support for the green, intelligent, and high-end development of the ferroalloy industry.
Next, Ulanqab City will continue to strengthen and utilize the "Mengkeju" platform, further optimize the science and technology service environment, improve the efficiency of supply and demand matching for innovation elements, strengthen dynamic tracking and supervision of signed projects, promote the efficient transformation of innovative achievements into new quality productive forces, and accelerate the iron alloy industry towards a 10 billion yuan industrial target.
