【SMM Steel】US-based flat-rolled steel distributor Mill Steel Co. announced the relocation of its Houston operations to a larger facility at the Port of Houston in the coming months. The new location will provide direct port access, allowing the company to receive 60,000 lb coils directly from vessels, significantly reducing transit time and improving operational efficiency.
The 100,000-square-foot facility will expand production capacity and accommodate future growth. The company is investing in new equipment, including a high-speed slitter with precision leveling for 72-inch wide coils (0.015-0.250 inch gauges), aimed at delivering flatter material and higher throughput.
The new site will offer Mill Steel’s full product range and provide third-party unloading and storage services. Both existing and new facilities will operate simultaneously during the transition to ensure uninterrupted customer service.
