At a series of themed press conferences held today by the State Council Information Office on "High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan," a relevant official from the National Energy Administration stated: The 14th Five-Year Plan period saw even greater breakthroughs in energy technology innovation. Wang Hongzhi, member of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and director of the National Energy Administration, said that new energy patents accounted for over 40% of the global total, with PV conversion efficiency and offshore wind turbine capacity continuously setting new world records. In just a few years, the scale of new-type energy storage rose to first place globally. New models and business forms flourished, with smart microgrids and virtual power plants developing rapidly. Large-scale application pilots for vehicle-grid interaction were expedited, and the energy industry accelerated its integration with sectors such as industry and transportation.
