Shenzhen-based BASiC Semiconductor signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Automotive Chip (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. (CASTC).

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 23, Shenzhen-based BASiC Semiconductor signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Automotive Chip (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd. ("CASTC"), marking a new partnership in the field of automotive-grade semiconductors.

According to a post on BASiC Semiconductor's WeChat account, the agreement focuses on automotive-grade power semiconductors. BASiC Semiconductor will contribute its expertise in silicon carbide (SiC) power device development and commercialization, while CASTC will provide resources in functional safety, information security, reliability certification, and national standards research. Together, they aim to overcome technical bottlenecks in power and driver chips through a complementary partnership.

Looking ahead, the two companies plan to jointly develop safety and reliability testing technologies for power and driver chips. By establishing a full-cycle service system covering R&D, testing, certification, and application, they intend to build a resource-sharing mechanism that supports the performance leap of domestically developed automotive chips.

BASiC Semiconductor is one of China's leading third-generation semiconductor innovators, specializing in the R&D and industrialization of SiC power devices. The company covers the full SiC value chain, from chip design and wafer fabrication to packaging, testing, and driver applications. Its portfolio includes SiC diodes, MOSFET chips, automotive- and industrial-grade SiC modules, and driver chips. These products are supplied to hundreds of global customers across sectors including electric vehicles, renewable energy storage, rail transit, industrial control, and smart grids.

CASTC, jointly established by CATARC (China Automotive Technology & Research Center) and China Reform Holdings's China Reform Development Investment Co., Ltd., operates as a public testing and verification platform for automotive-grade chip standards. Its work spans functional safety, information security, reliability, performance, and system-level validation, all aimed at strengthening China's automotive chip standardization and accelerating domestic adoption. The company plays a key role in standards development, certification trials, and ecosystem building, while also advancing core chip testing technologies and evaluation mechanisms to support wider industry adoption.
