On August 25, 2025, Namibian rare earth mining company Broadmind Mining and green steel manufacturer Hylron signed an agreement to establish a cooperative relationship and begin advancing the Namibia Green Hydrogen Project (NGH2P) - an initiative aimed at producing 10 to 12 million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2050. The partnership aims to integrate mining, mineral processing, and green steel production, advancing Namibia's local mineral processing strategy. Broadmind Mining will supply rare earths and iron ore, while Hylron will contribute green steel manufacturing technology. Under the terms of the agreement, NGH2P will provide domestic support, including capital raising and stakeholder coordination.
