[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] A 50,000-metric-ton LFP (lithium iron phosphate) material production line has been constructed and commenced operation. As one of the key enterprises in the new energy industrial chain at Dazhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the development journey of this new energy company in Dazhou epitomizes the zone's private economy embracing innovative development. The company is the first enterprise established within a leading battery manufacturer's Dazhou Lithium Battery Zero-Carbon Industrial Park. With a total investment of 3.8 billion yuan, it plans to build an annual production capacity of 220,000 metric tons of lithium-ion battery cathode materials. Currently, the first phase, a 50,000-metric-ton production line, has successfully started production.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] An annual 20,000-metric-ton fourth-generation LMFP (lithium manganese iron phosphate) project settles in Shanxi. The project, with a total investment of 300 million yuan, is located in Zhangze Industrial Park, Changzhi High-Tech Zone. It plans to build an intelligent production line for 20,000 metric tons per year of fourth-generation LMFP cathode material, to be constructed in two phases. The first phase involves an investment of 80 million yuan and utilizes 5,000 square meters of standardized factory space. Upon full operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of approximately 1 billion yuan.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] Trial production begins for annual 50,000-metric-ton LFP cathode material project. Recently, the New Energy Carbon Neutrality Industrial Park's annual 50,000-metric-ton LFP cathode material project reported new progress. Equipment installation is complete, and trial production is scheduled for August 2025. Upon reaching full capacity, the project will produce 50,000 metric tons of LFP cathode material annually, with an estimated annual output value of 8 to 10 billion yuan.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] 30,000-metric-ton battery recycling regional hub project to be established in Ya'an. Phase one covers 9,000 square meters, constructing a cascading use and crushing line for retired lithium batteries with an annual processing capacity of 10,000 metric tons. It will include one battery pack disassembly line, one battery module/PACK cascade utilization line, one battery crushing production line, along with supporting battery pre-processing, testing, and inventory areas. Phase two expands over 100 acres, adding a 20,000-metric-ton/year battery pack recycling line. It will include an auto dismantling workshop capable of processing 40,000 vehicles/year, storage for retired new energy vehicle power batteries, a battery disassembly/testing/cascading workshop, a crushing/sorting workshop, and a hydrometallurgical production line, achieving a total annual processing capacity of 30,000 metric tons.
[SMM Lithium Battery Recycling] Weishan County Retired Lithium Battery Resource Recycling Project. Recently, the Weishan County Natural Resources and Planning Bureau in Shandong Province released pre-approval details for the construction plan of the Shandong Retired Lithium Battery Resource Recycling Project. The advancement of this project signifies a new stage of development in China's power battery recycling sector.
[Xining's 10,000-metric-ton retired lithium-ion battery powder production line arrives.] Recently, the Xining Ecology and Environment Bureau in Qinghai Province released the approval announcement for the Comprehensive Utilization Project for Electrolytic Aluminum Waste Residue and Scrapped Lithium-ion Batteries by Qinghai Dingneng Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. The launch of this project will open new pathways for resource recycling in China's new energy industry. With a total investment of 220 million yuan, the project is located in Huangjiazhai Town, Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County, Xining City. It plans to build three core production lines: 1) An 80,000-metric-ton/year line for electrolytic aluminum spent potlining (containing steel rods, cathode carbon blocks, and waste refractory materials) and 20,000-metric-ton/year carbon slag, extracting graphite, electrolytic aluminum electrolyte, lithium carbonate, etc.; 2) A 10,000-metric-ton/year retired lithium-ion battery powder production line, mainly producing copper powder, aluminum powder, aluminum shells, and black mass; 3) A 50,000-metric-ton/year aluminum ash residue line, primarily producing calcium aluminate.
[Tianquan's 30,000-metric-ton new energy battery full-lifecycle cascading recycling regional hub project arrives.] Recently, the Tianquan County People's Government in Sichuan's Ya'an City released the first environmental impact assessment information for the Sichuan-Tibet New Energy Battery Full-Lifecycle Cascading Recycling Regional Hub Project by Tianquan Junengxin Technology Co., Ltd., marking the official public launch of this key project with a total investment of approximately 380 million yuan. Located in Shiyang Town, Tianquan County, the project will be built in two phases to establish a leading power battery recycling system in Southwest China. Phase one covers 9,000 square meters, focusing on building a cascading use and crushing line for retired lithium batteries with an annual capacity of 10,000 metric tons. It includes one battery pack disassembly line, one battery module/PACK cascade line, one battery crushing line, and supporting pre-processing, testing, and storage areas. Phase two expands to 100 acres, adding 20,000 metric tons/year of battery pack recycling capacity, a vehicle dismantling workshop for 40,000 vehicles/year, storage for retired NEV batteries, a battery disassembly/testing/cascading workshop, a crushing/sorting workshop, and a hydrometallurgical line, boosting total capacity to 30,000 metric tons/year.
[Zibo's 40,000-metric-ton battery cascading use and recycling project arrives.] Recently, the project engineering acceptance platform released the pre-approval public participation announcement for the environmental impact assessment of the 40,000-metric-ton Battery Cascading Use and Recycling Project by Shandong Pengshun Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. The advancement of this project injects new vitality into China's power battery recycling industry. Established in 2022 with registered capital of 30 million yuan and headquartered in Zibo High-Tech Zone, the company is a national high-tech enterprise integrating resource regeneration R&D, battery manufacturing, and environmental engineering services.
[Xinyu's 14,000-metric-ton waste lithium battery electrode scrap crushing project arrives.] Recently, the Xinyu High-Tech Zone Ecology and Environment Bureau released the approval announcement for the Annual 14,000-Metric-Ton Waste Electrode Scrap Crushing Project by Xinyu Chicheng Technology Co., Ltd. This project will boost the local new energy industry. Its main raw material is waste LFP battery cells. The process includes manual disassembly, crushing, screening, secondary crushing, screening, ball milling, air separation, and packaging. Upon completion, it will process 14,000 metric tons of waste LFP battery cells annually. The raw materials consist solely of unfilled, defective cells from battery manufacturers, containing no electrolyte or casing, ensuring production safety and environmental compliance.
