During a State Council press conference on “Successfully Completing the 14th Five-Year Plan” on 26 August, Wang Hongzhi, Administrator of the National Energy Administration, disclosed that China has built the world’s largest electric-vehicle charging network—two charging posts for every five EVs. Concurrently, the country has established the planet’s biggest and fastest-growing renewable-energy system, raising the share of renewables in total installed power capacity from about 40 % to roughly 60 %.
