【SMM News】
Andrada Mining, a Namibian tin producer, announced that the construction of the second processing plant (Jig Plant) at its flagship Uis Mine in Namibia has been completed on schedule and within budget. The plant is expected to commence commissioning in the final week of August 2025; upon commissioning, it will significantly enhance tin ore processing capacity, support the company’s tin production growth, and consolidate its competitive position in the tin market.

Adjacent to the existing tin processing facility, this Jig Plant features a modular design that enables independent operation and scalable expansion. This design not only ensures uninterrupted production at the primary processing plant but also reserves room for future capacity expansion. The plant has a designed nameplate capacity of 80-100 tonnes per hour, with a maximum monthly ore processing capacity of up to 40,000 tonnes and an estimated tin recovery rate of 70% (actual parameters will be confirmed during the commissioning process).

For initial ore supply, the plant will source materials from pegmatites near the Uis Mine (with a tin grade of 0.14%-0.3%) and existing stockpiles. Meanwhile, Andrada Mining has reached an agreement with Goantagab Mining to secure supplementary ore supply—up to 20,000 tonnes of ore with a 1.5% tin grade.
