[US Proposes to Add Lead to Critical Minerals List] According to foreign media reports, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has recommended adding lead to the draft list of critical minerals. A notice in the Federal Register seeking public comments proposed six minerals to be added to the 2025 edition of the list, which will include 54 critical minerals: copper, potash, silicon, silver, lead, and rhenium; meanwhile, tellurium and arsenic will be removed. Currently, the USGS, an agency under the Department of the Interior, has published the draft list in the Federal Register for a 30-day period to solicit public comments.
