Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 23, Geely Galaxy officially opened global presales for its Galaxy M9, positioning the model as a flagship six-seat SUV with advanced AI technology. Prices range from 193,800 yuan to 258,800 yuan.

The Galaxy M9 draws inspiration from the Galaxy Starship concept, featuring a closed front fascia accented by a "Starwave Ripple" light strip spanning the width of the SUV. The strip incorporates 380 LEDs with the brand's logo integrated below, creating a distinct visual signature.

T-shaped vents on each side of the bumper and a trapezoidal active grille dominate the front design, while a roof-mounted LiDAR unit is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle's lines. The profile features traditional pull-out door handles, chrome-trimmed pillars and window frames, and multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Measuring 5,205 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height with a wheelbase of more than 3 meters, the Galaxy M9 adopts a straight roofline with a floating roof effect. Side windows are proportioned at roughly 1:1.2 to the body, enhancing its balanced stance. The front carries the signature "Starwave Ripple" lighting, while the rear is fitted with "Rising Sun" taillights. Official data puts the drag coefficient at 0.285 Cd.

Inside, the SUV follows a 2+2+2 six-seat configuration that Geely describes as a "three-chamber mansion" layout.

The driver's seat comes with adaptive side bolsters and lumbar support, while the front passenger seat adds a leg rest. Second-row passengers benefit from individual entertainment screens (size undisclosed), a 9.1-liter refrigerated compartment, and retractable cup holders.

The third row offers reclining angles up to 150 degrees and small porthole-style side windows. Multiple seating modes are available, such as lounge, cinema sofa, and full flatbed. The effective cabin space is rated at 5.2 square meters.

Safety equipment includes nine airbags across the lineup, with extended side curtains and far-side airbags. The digital cockpit combines a 30-inch 6K center screen, a 32-inch AR head-up display, a 12.66-inch instrument cluster, and second-row displays. Select trims can be optioned with a 27-speaker Flyme Sound audio system. The battery system is certified under China's new safety standards, having passed bottom-impact and multiple stress tests.

On the tech front, the SUV runs on Qualcomm's 8295P chip with the Flyme Auto 2 smart cockpit system. It also introduces "Eva," a highly anthropomorphic voice assistant capable of handling over 20 interactive functions.

For assisted driving, the Galaxy M9 employs the "G-Pilot H" solution, enabling map-free navigation on autopilot. Hardware includes 11 cameras, three millimeter-wave radars, one LiDAR, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. The system supports automated parking, point-to-point navigation, and emergency braking at speeds of up to 130 km/h.

Powering the SUV is Geely's NordThor EM-P plug-in hybrid system. In two-wheel-drive form, it consumes as little as 4.8 liters per 100 km when running without battery charge, with a combined range of more than 1,500 km. Buyers can choose from battery-powered ranges of 100 km, 210 km, or 230 km under CLTC standards.

The four-wheel-drive version adds a triple-motor setup that propels the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The chassis uses a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, with optional dual-chamber air suspension and CCD variable damping. The system also supports independent wheel lift and single-wheel traction recovery for off-road situations.
