Western Wits Mining Company of Australia plans to invest 90 million US dollars in developing a new underground gold mine near Johannesburg, South Africa. This marks the first new underground gold mine to be developed in South Africa in 15 years. According to foreign media reports, this investment project is located in the Witwatersrand Basin—a major global gold-producing region—and the annual gold output is expected to reach 70,000 ounces.
