According to the latest data from Clarkson (as of August 10, 2025), 97 new orders were placed globally in July 2025, totaling 2,861,435 CGT. Compared to 142 new orders in June 2025, totaling 3,573,211 CGT, the number of orders decreased by 45 vessels MoM, and the compensated gross tonnage (CGT) dropped by 19.92% MoM. Compared to 180 new orders in July 2024, totaling 4,938,371 CGT, the number of orders decreased by 83 vessels YoY, and the CGT dropped by 42.06% YoY. By vessel type, there were 12 bulk carriers, totaling 2,520,000 DWT; 15 oil tankers, totaling 3,174,000 DWT; 5 chemical tankers, totaling 174,800 DWT; 42 container ships, totaling 329,884 TEU; 6 liquefied gas carriers, totaling 318,660 m³; 5 other types of vessels, totaling 62,818 CGT; and 12 offshore vessels, totaling 100,603 CGT.
