Sigma Lithium reported second-quarter lithium concentrate production of 68,368 tonnes, a 38% year-on-year increase, exceeding its quarterly target of 67,500 tonnes. All-in sustaining costs (AISC) fell to $594 per tonne, below the target of $660.
Despite higher output, sales volume dropped 23% year-on-year to 40,350 tonnes due to the company's strategy of stockpiling inventory amid high volatility in the global lithium market. Revenue declined to $21.1 million, while net loss widened to $18.8 million.
The CEO highlighted the advantages of its "low-cost, large-scale operations and disciplined commercial strategy" and confirmed steady progress toward the annual production target of 270,000 tonnes. Construction of the second processing plant has begun, which is expected to double annual production capacity to 520,000 tonnes upon completion.
