[July Copper Scrap Import Data by Country] In July 2025, Japan's exports to China continued to show strong momentum, maintaining its position as a leading source of imports. The volume of copper scrap and shredded copper scrap exported to China was 36,100 mt, up 42.4% MoM and surging 74.69% YoY, accounting for 19.02% of China's total imports, surpassing Thailand to take the top spot. Additionally, South Korea, Spain, Malaysia, and other countries also ranked among the top import sources, reflecting the increasingly diversified new normal for the supply of recycled copper raw materials to China. Meanwhile, US-sourced supplies further faded from the Chinese market, with their share of imports dropping to an extremely low level of 0.31% in July, and the resulting market gap has been continuously filled by other regions.
