Beijing (Gasgoo)-STELATO, co-developed by Huawei and BAIC Group, officially began taking pre-orders for STELATO S9T, an mid-to-large touring sedan, at 10:08 a.m. on August 18, with a starting pre-sale price of 328,000 yuan.

Within just one hour, the model drew more than 10,000 units of pre-orders, according to the product director for Huawei's STELATO lineup. The company plans to launch an offline roadshow for the vehicle as early as this weekend, with a formal market debut scheduled for September.

The STELATO S9T, positioned as the first touring sedan of Huawei's smart car alliance, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance ("HIMA") , comes equipped with Huawei ADS 4 advanced driver-assistance, full-range air suspension, continuously variable damping (CDC), and the Huawei Tuling 3.0 platform.

Design-wise, the STELATO S9T adopts the brand's signature styling language, featuring a closed front fascia and headlights similar to those on the existing STELATO S9. It is also the first model to carry STELATO's new emblem. Measuring 5,160 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width, and 1,492 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm, the STELATO S9T presents a streamlined station wagon profile, enhanced by hidden door handles and multi-spoke luxury wheels.

The interior adopts a wraparound cockpit design and offers a large central display, wireless smartphone charging for front-row passengers, cup holders, and customizable ambient lighting.

Feature highlights include newly developed smart electric doors, a passenger-side display, digital side mirrors, B-pillar air vents, powered sunshades, a redesigned steering wheel with the new logo, dual 50W wireless fast charging pads, a compressor-based fridge with a cooling floor of –6°C, a zero-gravity passenger seat, and a spacious five-seat rear configuration.

The STELATO S9T will be available in both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) versions. The REEV models come with 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh battery packs, offering a battery-powered CLTC range of 354 km and a maximum combined CLTC range of 1,305 km. The BEV model features a 100 kWh battery pack, providing up to 801 km of combined CLTC range.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
