[SMM Titanium Express] Since April, the operating rate of sponge titanium production at Osaka Titanium Technologies, a Japanese producer, has remained at a low level, with its operating rate reduced by up to 10% compared to normal levels. During the period from April to September 2024, the average operating rate of sponge titanium production was about 90%. The reduction in the operating rate is mainly attributed to weak demand in Japan's general industrial sector, as related customers have entered an inventory adjustment phase.
